Funke Adekoya SAN leaves ǼLEX to become an independent arbitrator 3 March 2022
Funke Adekoya SAN retired as a Partner and the head of the Dispute Resolution practice group at ǼLEX, a commercial law firm operating in Lagos, Nigeria and Accra at the end of February 2022. She now practices as an independent arbitrator and a litigation consultant at Funke Adekoya Arbitration Practice [www.funkeadekoya.com]focusing on energy, construction and commercial disputes arising from joint ventures and commercial contracts. She retains her panel listing on the arbitration panels of the Kigali International Arbitration Centre, CIETAC, the Beijing International Arbitration Centre, the Singapore International Association Centre and ICSID amongst many others. Whilst heading the AELEX Dispute Resolution Practice, she led the counsel team which represented the firm’s clients in high value arbitration disputes. In addition, she was regularly appointed as wing, sole or chair of the arbitration panel in complex disputes brought under the arbitration rules of the major arbitral institutions.
