On 25 May 2023, CRCICA and the CIArb Egypt Branch (hosted by the CRCICA) shared the world celebration of Africa Day and the 60th anniversary of the establishment of the African Union. Cultural diversity and multilateral cooperation with African partners have been CRCICA’s policy since Dr. Ismail Selim appointed Director of the CRCICA in 2017 “One of my primary objectives is to diversify CRCICA’s areas of cooperation by supporting arbitration in Africa and strengthening cooperation with other African arbitration institutions. I perceive Africa as one strong whole in the heart of the universe rather than some isolated islands in scattered lands. Let’s build bridges and demolish artificial walls that are unduly separating certain African Countries.” CRCICA orientation towards the arbitration community in Africa is best featured in the increasing promotion of the appointment of non-Egyptian African arbitrators highlighting the high caliber of arbitration practitioners in the African continent. CRCICA’s Director, Deputy Director and Associate Director for Legal Affairs and Business Development are frequent speakers in significant African events. It is worth noting that CRCICA’s Director Dr. Ismail Selim is a Co-Founder, Vice-President and Board Members of the AfAA. |
